The best construction calculator is the one that handles your everyday measurements correctly and makes its assumptions easy to check. Test the calculation, not only the feature list

Try 8 ft 7½ in + 3 ft 9¾ in = 12 ft 5¼ in. Then multiply a length by a number and a length by another length: the latter should produce an area, not another length. Check how a calculator handles division by zero and whether rounding changes only the displayed final answer.

Before a real job

  1. Use the free calculator with several measurements whose answers you know.
  2. Check the Pro tool’s assumptions, especially waste allowance, endpoint spacing and rounding.
  3. Try a supported calculation without connectivity and make sure you can retrieve your saved records.
